Synopsis
Cheerleader Isobel Lanley is horrified when she is paired with Varen Nethers for an English project, which is due—so unfair—on the day of the rival game. Cold and aloof, sardonic and sharp-tongued, Varen makes it clear he’d rather not have anything to do with her either. But when Isobel discovers strange writing in his journal, she can’t help but give this enigmatic boy with the piercing eyes another look.
Soon, Isobel finds herself making excuses to be with Varen. Steadily pulled away from her friends and her possessive boyfriend, Isobel ventures deeper and deeper into the dream world Varen has created through the pages of his notebook, a realm where the terrifying stories of Edgar Allan Poe come to life. As her world begins to unravel around her, Isobel discovers that dreams, like words, hold more power than she ever imagined, and that the most frightening realities are those of the mind. Now she must find a way to reach Varen before he is consumed by the shadows of his own nightmares. His life depends on it.
My Review:
I Loved This Novel! Varen Is An Intense Character. Isobel Is Beautiful And Sweet. A True Golden Heart Lies Within Her. It Took Me A Couple Of Chapters To Warm Up To Her, Though. I Guess Beacause Of Who She Was Before The Novel Began. By The Middle Of This Book I Was Dreaming, Thinking, And Breathing It All In, Literally Craving It! Going To Class And Work Proved Very Difficult. I Hauled This Book EVERYWHERE With Me Beacuse I Was So Lost In The Depths Of It. Creagh's Writing Style Is Exceptionally Detailed; From The Characters To The Storyline. I Was Hooked After The First 3 Chapters. It's Only A Shame That We Have To Wait Nearly A Year Before The Sequel Comes Out.. Can We Please Have It Sooner??!
Rating - 5/5

Beastly by Alex Flinn
Synopsis:
A beast. Not quite wolf or bear, gorilla or dog but a horrible new creature who walks upright—a creature with fangs and claws and hair springing from every pore. I am a monster.
You think I'm talking fairy tales? No way. The place is New York City. The time is now. It's no deformity, no disease. And I'll stay this way forever—ruined—unless I can break the spell.
Yes, the spell, the one the witch in my English class cast on me. Why did she turn me into a beast who hides by day and prowls by night? I'll tell you. I'll tell you how I used to be Kyle Kingsbury, the guy you wished you were, with money, perfect looks, and the perfect life. And then, I'll tell you how I became perfectly . . . beastly.
My Book Review:
I Really Loved This Version Of "Beauty And The Beast." The Modern Touch To It Makes It A Little More Intruiging Than Other Versions, Especially Since It's Told Through The Beast's Eyes Instead. I Really Loved The Characters- Kyle (Adrain), Kendra, And Lindy. Kyle Really Does Morph From A Beast To A Beautiful Young Man By The End Of The Book. Kendra Really Is A Nasty Witch Who Becomes A Beautiful Enchantress And Curses Kyle Changing Him Into A Beast. And Lindy Is Just A Normal Girl Who Is Romantically Beautiful On The Inside And Out As Can Be (Straight Down To Her Jane Eyre T-Shirt..) The Life Of The Party (As I Call Him) Will Is Kyle/Adrian's Funny Witty Blind School Tutor. The Beginning Of The Book Is Told Through Kyle (The Young Beastly Full Of Himself Man) And The Second Half Is Told Through Adrian (Once Kyle Becomes The Beast He Changes His Name To Adrian) The Beast Really Transforms And Becomes A Prince Underneath. I Really Couldn't Stand Kyle But It Was Super Easy To Fall In Love With The Beast Once He Became Adrian. He Really Tugged At My Heart Strings By The End Of This Book.
Rating 4/5
My Movie Review:
I Was Given An Opportunity To See The Beastly Movie Before It Hits Theaters This Friday, And I've Gotta Say I Really Enjoyed This Movie. Alex Pettyfer Played Kyle/Hunter (In The Movie The Name-Change Is Hunter) He Played The Character Very Well! Vanessa Hudgens And Mary-Kate Olsen Both Fulfilled Roles As Lindy And Kendra. Will Played By Neil Patrick Harris Is Just As Witty And A Bit Funnier Than The Book.. I Do Not Want To Give To Much Away But I Will Say That The Movie Moved Pretty Quickly. Kyle And Lindy's Relationship Grows Pretty Fast, Just As in The Book. Although, To Me It Felt As If A Lot Was Left Out It Definitely Satisfied My Need To See This Movie. Whether You Read The Book Or Watch The Movie Beastly Is Definite Must Read/See!
Rating 4/5
