shiver

Synopsis

The Cold.

The Heat.

The Shiver.

For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf--her wolf--is a chilling presence she can't seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human . . . until the cold makes him shift back again.

Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It's her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human--or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.

This Week's Book Is Tempted (House of Night Series #6) by P. C. Cast And Kristin Cast

Tempted

Synopsis

So…you’d think after banishing an immortal being and a fallen High Priestess, saving Stark’s life, biting Heath, getting a headache from Erik, and almost dying, Zoey Redbird would catch a break. Sadly, a break is not in the House of Night school forecast for the High Priestess in training and her gang. Juggling three guys is anything but a stress reliever, especially when one of them is a sexy Warrior who is so into protecting Zoey that he can sense her emotions. Speaking of stress, the dark force lurking in the tunnels under the Tulsa Depot is spreading, and Zoey is beginning to believe Stevie Rae could be responsible for a lot more than a group of misfit red fledglings. Aphrodite’s visions warn Zoey to stay away from Kalona and his dark allure, but they also show that it is Zoey who has the power to stop the evil immortal. Soon it becomes obvious that Zoey has no choice: if she doesn’t go to Kalona he will exact a fiery vengeance on those closest to her. Will Zoey have the courage to chance losing her life, her heart, and her soul? Find out in the next spectacular installment in the House of Night Series, Tempted.

Synopsis

The Cold.

My Review:

I Absolutely Hate Comparing This Book To Another, But I Haven't Read An Agonizingly Sad Love Story This Good Since Twilight. It Has Nothing To Do With Being Like Twilight, It Just Makes You Feel The Emotions, Again. I Am Still Shaking and Shivering From The Amazement That Is Shiver. From The Moment You Open This Book You're Instantly Swept Up Into This Amazing Love That's Impossible For You Not To Feel Yourself. The Longing, The Sadness. It's All There And Very Clear. Maggie Has A Wonderful Ability Of Writing In Such Amazing Detail, From the Emotions In One's Eyes To Their Body Language. You Will Feel The Emotions In This Book. I Truly Cried On More Than One Occasion. I Found Myself Floating And Tingling Every Time I Stopped Reading For A Moment. And When I Was All finished It Took Me Nearly 2 Hours To Snap Out Of The Fog. Sam And Grace Are Amazing Characters Who Have Not So Perfect Lives. They Overcome Their Pain With The Love They Have For Each Other. I Also Love That This Book Is Told In Both Sam And Grace's Point Of View. There Are Little Secrets And Lyrics Hidden In The Pages Of Shiver. The Other Characters In This Book Tie-In In Very Surprising Ways. This Book Will Leave You Satisfied But Craving The Next Installment. Although, The Book Is Entitled Shiver, It's Very Hot and Heavy In An Amazing Way. Twilight Can Reign Over The Vampire World, But Shiver Just Won Wolf Kingdom!! I Highly Recommend This Book!

I Heart You, You Haunt Me by Lisa Schroeder

Heart You

Synopsis

Girl meets boy.

Girl loses boy.

Girl gets boy back...

...sort of.

Ava can't see him or touch him, unless she's dreaming. She can't hear hisvoice, except for the faint whispers in her mind. Most would think she'scrazy, but she knows he's here.

Jackson. The boy Ava thought she'd spend the rest of her life with. He's back from the dead, as proof that love truly knows no bounds.

RagDollVampGirl's Review

This Book Was Breath-Takingly Beautiful. Jackson Seemed So Much More Realistic Than Other Ghosts I've Read About. I Love The Fact That He Communicates Through The Radio. Ava Seemed Fragmented And Pushing The Pieces Back Together. The Flashbacks, The Music, The Scent And The Cool Air Left Me Questioning Ava's Sanity.. But The Book Comes Together Amazingly And Leaves You With Joyful Tears.. This Book Is Perfect For Anyone Grieving, Saddened By A Loss, Either By Love Or Death. It's Written In Verse And Is A Very Quick Read.. I Highly Recommend This Book!! I Can't Wait To Read More By Lisa Schroeder..

Wishlist Wednesday (Zombie Edition)

Today's Wishlist Consist Of Two Zombie Books I Can't Wait For!!

First Up, Never Slow Dance With A Zombie by E. Van Lowe

Photobucket

Synopsis (From Amazon)

Principal Taft's 3 Simple Rules for Surviving a Zombie Uprising:

Rule #1: While in the halls, walk slowly and wear a vacant expression on your face. Zombies won't attack other zombies.

Rule #2: Never travel alone. Move in packs. Follow the crowd. Zombies detest blatant displays of individuality.

Rule #3: If a zombie should attack, do not run. Instead, throw raw steak at to him. Zombies love raw meat. This display of kindness will go a long way.

On the night of her middle school graduation, Margot Jean Johnson wrote a high school manifesto detailing her goals for what she was sure would be a most excellent high school career. She and her best friend, Sybil, would be popular and, most important, have boyfriends. Three years later, they haven't accomplished a thing!

Then Margot and Sybil arrive at school one day to find that most of the student body has been turned into flesh-eating zombies. When kooky Principal Taft asks the girls to coexist with the zombies until the end of the semester, they realize that this is the perfect opportunity to live out their high school dreams. All they have to do is stay alive....

Second Book Up Is, I Kissed A Zombie, And I Liked It by Adam Selzer

kissed A Zombie

Synopsis (From Amazon)

Algonquin “Ali” Rhodes, the high school newspaper’s music critic, meets an intriguing singer, Doug, while reviewing a gig. He’s a weird-looking guy—goth, but he seems sincere about it, like maybe he was into it back before it was cool. She introduces herself after the set, asking if he lives in Cornersville, and he replies, in his slow, quiet murmur, “Well, I don’t really live there, exactly. . . .”

When Ali and Doug start dating, Ali is falling so hard she doesn’t notice a few odd signs: he never changes clothes, his head is a funny shape, and he says practically nothing out loud. Finally Marie, the school paper’s fashion editor, points out the obvious: Doug isn’t just a really sincere goth. He’s a zombie. Horrified that her feelings could have allowed her to overlook such a flaw, Ali breaks up with Doug, but learns that zombies are awfully hard to get rid of—at the same time she learns that vampires, a group as tightly-knit as the mafia, don’t think much of music critics who make fun of vampires in reviews. . . .

What I've Recieved And Review..

This Week I Only Got One Book Which Was The Treasure Map of Boys: Noel, Jackson, Finn, Hutch--and me, Ruby Oliver (Ruby Oliver, Book 3) by E. Lockhart

Treasure Map

Synopsis

Ruby is back at Tate Prep, and it’s her thirty-seventh week in the state of Noboyfriend. Her panic attacks are bad, her love life is even worse, and what’s more:

Noel is writing her notes, Jackson is giving her frogs, Gideon is helping her cook, and Finn is making her brownies. Rumors are flying, and Ruby’s already-sucky reputation is heading downhill.

Not only that, she’s also: running a bake sale, learning the secrets of heavymetal therapy, encountering some seriously smelly feet, defending the rights of pygmy goats, and bodyguarding Noel from unwanted advances.

In this companion novel to The Boyfriend List and The Boy Book, Ruby struggles to secure some sort of mental health, to understand what constitutes a real friendship, and to find true love—if such a thing exists.

RagDollVampGirl's Quick Review

Ruby Oliver Is The Epitomy Of A Teenager! I Love How She Doubts Herself, And Is Super Guilty When She Makes A Desicion. It Reminds Me Of Of Me Alot. I Actually Had To Go To Therapy, Too. I Love This Book, It's Simply Sweet. I Also Love How It Seems To Be Half Ruby's Story And Half Ruby's Journal. I Read this Book In One Day. This Is A Quick, Funny, And Light Read.

Heavenly by Jennifer Laurens

Photobucket

Synopsis

I met someone who changed everything. Matthias. My autistic sister's guardian angel. Honest. Inspiring. Funny. Hot. And immortal. That was the problem. What could I do? I did what any other girl would do-I fell in love with him. Zoe's sister darts in front of cars. Her brother's a pothead. Her parents are so overwhelmed; they don't see Zoe lost in her broken life. Zoe escapes the only way she knows how: partying. Matthias, a guardian sent from Heaven, watches over Zoe's autistic sister. After Zoe is convinced he's legit, angel and lost girl come together in a love that changes destiny. But Heaven on Earth can't last forever.

RagDollVampGirl's Review

Zoe Is Dealing With A Lot At Home. Her Brother Struggles With An Addiction And Her Parents Seem To Only Care About One Thing: Her Autistic Little Sister. Sometimes, All Zoe Can Do Is Turn To Alcohol Just To Feel Something...

Wow!! This Book Was Amazing. Although I Found It A Little Hard To Click With Zoe I Totally Loved This Book.. I Was A Little Frustrated At How Zoe Would React To Certain Situations. Like She Couldn't Handle An Argument With Her Family But Finds Out About Angels And Seems To Take The News As Easy As Pie. Sometimes I Felt Like I was Reading About A 15 Year-Old Instead Of An 18 Year-Old. But, She Is A Teenager. That I Understand. I Believe Matthias' Character Was Well Put. I Like The Idea Of Him Being From The Early 1900's And Jennifer Really Made Sure He Fit The Role, From What He Wore To How He Spoke. Abria Was Certainly Fun To Read About In The Sense That As I Was Reading This Book I Could Picture The Flapping And The Wide Eyes. This Book Truly Is Amazing And Highly Unpredictable. The Whole Time I Was Reading I Was Unsure What Was Going To Happen Next. Jennifer Threw Some Pretty Wicked Curve Balls In That Left Me On The Edge Of My Seat. All In All, I Really Enjoyed This Book. The Ending Blind-Sided Me!! I Was Not Expecting It At All. So, I Am Very Happy To Hear That There Will Be A Sequel And I'm Ecstatic To Read It.

I HIGHLY Recommend This Book.

3 Books Soon To Come

So This Wednesday I Was Going To Post My Wednesday Wishlist About Maggie Stiefvater's Shiver But Then I Got A Copy In The Mail!! I Had An Idea About 3 Books That I'm Dying To Read And Decided To Put Them All In One Post... These Books Are Scheduled To Be Released Between December, 2009 And August, 2010.

The First Book Up Is The Dark Divine by Bree Despain

Dark Divine

Synopsis (From Goodreads)

A prodigal son

A dangerous love

A deadly secret . . .

I stood back and watched his movements. Daniel had that way about him that could shut me down in an instant. . . . I kicked the gravel a couple of times and worked up my courage again. “Tell me . . . I mean . . . why did you come back? Why now, after all this time?”

Grace Divine, daughter of the local pastor, always knew something terrible happened the night Daniel Kalbi disappeared—the night she found her brother Jude collapsed on the porch, covered in blood. But she has no idea what a truly monstrous secret that night really held. And when Daniel returns three years later, Grace can no longer deny her attraction to him, despite promising Jude she’ll stay away.

As Grace gets closer to Daniel, her actions stir the ancient evil Daniel unleashed that horrific night. Grace must discover the truth behind Jude and Daniel's dark secret . . . and the cure that can save the ones she loves. But she may have to lay down the ultimate sacrifice to do it—her soul.

Release Date - 12/22/2009

Next Up, The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting

Body Finder

Synopsis (From Goodreads)

Violet Ambrose is grappling with two major issues: Jay Heaton and her morbid secret ability. While the sixteen-year-old is confused by her new feelings for her best friend since childhood, she is more disturbed by her “power” to sense dead bodies—or at least those that have been murdered. Since she was a little girl, she has felt the echoes the dead leave behind in the world . . . and the imprints that attach to their killers.

Violet has never considered her strange talent to be a gift; it mostly just led her to find dead birds her cat had tired of playing with. But now that a serial killer has begun terrorizing her small town, and the echoes of the local girls he’s claimed haunt her daily, she realizes she might be the only person who can stop him.

Despite his fierce protectiveness over her, Jay reluctantly agrees to help Violet on her quest to find the murderer—and Violet is unnerved to find herself hoping that Jay’s intentions are much more than friendly. But even as she’s falling intensely in love, Violet is getting closer and closer to discovering a killer . . . and becoming his prey herself.

Sea

Synopsis (From Goodreads)

Haunted by recurring nightmares since her mother’s disappearance over the Indian ocean three years before, fifteen-year old California girl Sienna Jones reluctantly travels with her psychiatrist father’s volunteer team to six-months post-tsunami Indonesia where she meets the scarred and soulful orphaned boy, Deni, who is more like Sea than anyone she has ever met.

She knows they can’t be together, so why can’t she stay away from him? And what about her old best friend-turned-suddenly-hot Spider who may or may not be waiting for her back home? And why won’t her dad tell her the truth about her mother’s plane crash? The farther she gets from home, the closer she comes to finding answers.

And Sea’s real adventure begins.
