SHADE by Jeri Smith-Ready And GIVEAWAY!

Shade

Synopsis

Love ties them together. Death can't tear them apart.

Best. Birthday. Ever. At least, it was supposed to be. With Logan's band playing a critical gig and Aura's plans for an intimate after-party, Aura knows it will be the most memorable night of her boyfriend's life. She never thought it would be his last.

Logan's sudden death leaves Aura devastated. He's gone.

Well, sort of.

Like everyone born after the Shift, Aura can see and hear ghosts. This mysterious ability has always been annoying, and Aura had wanted nothing more than to figure out why the Shift happened so she can undo it. But not with Logan's violet-hued spirit still hanging around. Because dead Logan is almost as real as ever. Almost.

It doesn't help that Aura's new friend Zachary is so understanding—and so very alive. His support means more to Aura than she cares to admit.

As Aura's relationships with the dead and the living grow ever complicated, so do her feelings for Logan and Zachary. Each holds a piece of Aura's heart?and clues to the secret of the Shift.

My Review:
This Story Is A Really Good One. It Wowed Me. The Shift Is An Unknown Change That Occured That Led Everyone Born After It To Be Able To See Ghosts. After The Shift Ghosts Became Purplish And Are No Longer Seen In A Whitish Hue. Ghosts Now Can Become Shades - An Angry, Bitter Shapeless Spirit, Who Has Not Moved On Immediately. Aura, The Main Character Was Born On The Exact Date Of The Shift At The Very Exact Same Time. She's A Little Angry At The Fact That She Can See These Ghosts And Works With Her Aunt To Try And Solve Unresolved Deaths. She Can Not Find A Way To Block Out The Ghosts, And Is Also Seeking Some Way To Find Out Why The Shift Happened And How She Can End It. There Is Also An Amazing, Intense Love Story Here But I Don't Want To Give Too Much Away. You Have To Read It To Know What I'm Talking About. This Is A Book That Just Makes You Want To Talk About It. The World That Was Created For This Book And The Characters Jeri Created Are Heartfelt And You Can Fall Into This Story And Get Super-Lost In The World Of Shade.

I Highly Recommend This Book!

I'm a follower and a HUGE Jeri Smith-Ready fan! Oooo, the Shift sounds like an interesting concept but I don't think that most people would be able to handle something like that. I think it would make for a lot more crazies out there :)

I'm a new follower and I love Jeri Smith-Ready's books! I think the Shift would be an interesting phenomenon, but whether a positive or negative one would depend heavily on how people become ghosts. If ghosts were all people who died in violent ways, or with unresolved issues, I'm not sure I'd want to see or interact with them. And the Shades sound quite scary, to be honest. It would also be interesting if you lived someplace where the original inhabitants spoke a different language than you did; there would be a lot of ghosts around whom you could see but not communicate with.
Anyway, it sounds like a great read! Thanks for the great contest!

The Shift in our life today, I believe would only cause trouble. Imagine it, all the ghosts could plot an apocalypse and kill all mankind. On the other hand, it would be amazing, as all widows wouldn't be so heartbroken when their spouses die, knowing they can at least see them, as a ghost. But, still it probably wouldn't me that wonderful.

I'm not sure how well the Shift would go over today... Probably much better than it would have, say, during the Salem Witch Trials. I still don't really think people would react well to seeing dead people, but it would be interesting. It would probably be much easier to catch murderers!

While I think its a great type of story to read. I dont think it would work well in RL. I think it would cause a lot of problems and confusion.

I am a follower. I think The Shift would be bad in the world we live in today. It would drive a lot of people crazy and cause a lot of emotional problems for tons of people. People already have enough baggage to deal with.

I think the Shift would cause a lot of problems in the world we live in today. People are already crazy enough without even worrying about something like The Shift.

This book sounds amazing! The Shift would be so tempting, so you could hang on to all that you had loved. But I don't think it would be a good idea because no one would be able to move on. They would be stuck in a time warp kind of- how can you grow when you're held back by something that can't?

Thanks for hosting a great giveaway!

I am a new follower, I also follow your twitter, but I think this would be an awesome book to read, and it would be something new for me to read as well, I haven't read a book lately that isn't vampire, werewolf, or angel related, this would be an amazing change.

It is very kind of you to host this giveway!!!!!
